    1874: Cover, side flaps removed, mailed from Trieste to Beirut, forwarded by HESS & CO / ALEXANDRIE with Agent's cachet in green on reverse annotated '25.3.1874' in manuscript, with Maritime rate of 6 kopeks paid by 1868 1 k. brown and 5 k. blue, perf. 11½ (Mi. 2 + 4) tied by dotted '785' numeral handstamps of Alexandria. Reverse with cyrillic ALEXANDRIA datestamp of despatch in blue-green (March 13, julian) and cyrillic Beirut Russian P.O. cds (March 16) alongside. Opens well for Exhibit display, an extremely scarce cover.
