    1837: Entire letter from Syros to Alexandria with fine SYRA despatch cds (July 21) and fine oval PAID at right both in black. A fine and early entire carried by a Feraldi Line ship. Manuscript rating on reverse but no arrival marking as no datestamp is recorded from the opening of the Greek Office in November 1833 until 1858. An early commercial letter, Consular letters are known from 1834, coupled with an 1853 entire in the other direction rated 20 lepta on arrival.
