    1862 (Dec 6): Entire letter with oval POSTA EUROPEA / ZAGASIK (Type III) struck in blue with scarce framed FRANCA alongside in same ink (it is believed that the 'Franca' handstamp was only used on mail to large users of the Posta Europea service who settled accounts on a weekly or monthly basis). Rated '1½' piastres in blue crayon with 'A' for Alexandria at right and 'Franca' deleted in crayon as applied in error. Repaired cover tear but rare. Signed Todd AIEP.
