    1800 (Dec 26): Entire letter written from Rosetta on the 6 Nivose, Year 8; addressed to a wounded Soldier of the 15th Regiment on board the hospital ship 'L'Americain' off Alexandria, struck with straight line ROSETTE in black at left. Interestingly charged '4' sols in manuscript as the entire was not on Official business. Extremely fine and rare, with just 9 examples recorded. Illustrated in Smith on page 7. Signed Jamet.
