    Type 1B. 1869: Mourning cover written at Aden on board the 'Sumatra' to Bath via Marseilles, endorsed 'Aden, Christmas Day, 69' at lower left, franked by 8 a. carmine on blued paper and 8 p. mauve on white, tied by 9 barred obliterator in blue with corresponding ADEN double arc cds on reverse (Dec 24) in same ink. Reverse with oval SEA POST OFFICE / A datestamp (Dec 24) struck in blue and letter transferred to the 'Golconda' for onward transmission to Bath with arrival (Jan 10, 1870) cds. Some edge wear to envelope but a very rare usage.
