    Malta 1841 (Sept 8): Entire letter from Melbourne endorsed 'via Sydney' and, below, 'Paid 1/- via Falmouth', addressed to Malta via London. Reverse with oval Crown MELBOURNE / NEW S. WALES datestamp in black and front with framed MELBOURNE / PAID in yellow. Struck in transit with Crown PAID SHIP LETTER / SYDNEY in red and framed London tomstone datestamp (April 1, 1842) with '8' (pence) Ship Letter fee deleted, reverse showing staight line SHIP LETTER in black. The entire opens well for Exhibit display, a wonderful and rare cover.
