    Malta 1841 (July 13): Entire letter endorsed 'On Her Majesty's Service' written from H.M.S. Howe at Malta addressed to Swan River, Western Australia via Bombay; struck on despatch with curved PAID / MALTA in black prepaid at the private Ship Letter rate of '6' pence in red manuscript. The Malta despatch somewhat over-struck by fine Crowned GENERAL POST OFFICE / CAPE OF GOOD HOPE in black (Oct 23). Slight file fold but wonderful lithographed printed heading to letter inside of the 'Battle of St. Jean D'Acre' (Nov 3, 1840). A rare and splendid entire.
