    1844/46: Inclinado 10 r. grey-black, block of twelve used on reverse of 1849 outer letter from Rio Grande to Rio de Janeiro, paying the 120 reis Maritime rate, the left side of the block showing the vertical marginal rule; all cancelled by circular handstamps in red. The block has been repaired as it was split on opening the letter, leaving three stamps with closed tears and reaffixed to the cover. Nevertheless a rare usage and a most attractive franking. Cert.
