    Mexico City 8 r. green on red-brown, a superb used example used in combination with very fine 4 r. rose-red on yellow, on 1863 cover to Paris, tied by FRANCO / MEXICO datestamps in black. Carried by French Paquebot with octagonal MEXIQUE / 1 datestamp well struck in blue (Dec 15) on front (Salles fig. 1361). Reverse of envelope with octagonal MEXIQUE / TAMPICO Ship's datestamp (Dec 15, 1863) in black and Paris arrival cds (Jan 15, 1864), where charged '48' décimes due in manuscript.
