    Puebla 8 r. black on red-brown, a wonderful horizontal strip of four with large margins all round and one stamp showing the vertical guideline, used in combination with 4 r. dull rose-red on yellow, creased on application and 2 r. black on rose; tied to front of 1862 registered cover to the Lottery in Mexico City by eight strikes of straight line Puebla FRANCO handstamps (Schatzkes fig. 1147B) in black. The edge of cover with circular handstamps denoting registration (Schatzkes fig. 1153A) and two line CERTIFICACION A PUEBLA / SALIO EN 24 de Julio de 1862 (Schatzkes fig. 1164) above. A remarkable 38 reales three colour franking, Puebla had only received 2'400 of the 4 reales and 980 of the 8 reales at this date. The cover fits on a standard Exhibition page, reverse with manuscript notation of receipt (July 26) and oval Lotteria Nacional handstamp in black. An astonishing and extremely rare cover for the specialist.
