    Mexico City 1 r. yellow, fine large margined example crossed by file fold, used on cover from Mexico City to Vera Cruz, dated internally '1 Agosto 1856' and cancelled by FRANCO / MEXICO datestamp of the following day '2 AGO 1856' in black - the second day of issue. The letter to the firm of Hargous in Vera Cruz was originally marked 'per Extraordinario' at upper left but sent at normal rate. A great rarity - this being the earliest known usage of a Mexican stamp on letter and originally discovered by this describer. Unique. Cert. Jaretzky (1987).
