    Lombardo-Veneto 1850: 45 c. clear blue, a fine horizontal pair from first printing, with close to large margins all round Sassone 10a, used on attractive cover to Ringsted, Denmark tied by bold strikes of two line VENEZIA / 12. GIU handstamps in black. Prepaid as far as Hamburg with the 45 centesemi, it appears the sender tried to pay postage to destination by adding the second adhesive, however the letter was assessed at Hamburg (blue manuscript on front) and charged '16' skilling due in red crayon for postage from Hamburg to destination. Reverse with 'Berlin / Hamburg' cds (16/6), Hamburg cds and Danish P.O. in Hamburg datestamp (17/6), the latter in blue. A wonderful and extremely rare cover. Cert. Colla (2004).
