    1913 (Oct 1):  Impressed 1 pi. blue with 'Provisional Government' inscription on wove envelope, size 23 x 37 mm., used to Constantinople with bold strike of negative XANTHI handstamp well struck in red. Reverse with red sender's cachet, Pera and Constantinople arrival (Oct 10) in black. File fold but very rare - mailed just a few days after issue.

    Note: Both Michel and Stanley Gibbons catalogues are erroneous-the size of the impressed stamps are 23 x 37 mm, Karamitsos (Volume III, 2012) correctly describes these complicated issues more thoroughly and accurately.
