    1850: 60 r. black, a fine four margined example used on spectacular 1874 envelope to Nantes, France in combination with 1866 20 r. reddish lilac, 200 r. black (trimmed perfs at base, and horizontal pair of 500 r. orange paying the quadruple 1'280 reis rate (4 x 320 reis), all tied by segmented cork handstamps in black with French type 'Rio De Janeiro' cds of despatch below. Flap missing but arrival on reverse (Feb 16). Some wear to envelope but a rare rate and mixed issue usage.
