    1864 (Sept 4): Entire letter from Livorno to Cairo franked on despatch with 1863 60 c. lilac tied by Livorno cds, mailed via Ancona (Sept 5) with large framed 'Piroscafi / Postali / Italiani' in black on front and reverse with ALESSANDRIA D'EGITTO / POSTE ITALIANE cds (Sept 10). Thence travelling by the Posta Europea service with POSTA EUROPEA / ALESSANDRIA cds (Type VI) in black (Sept 11) to Cairo. Some minor imperfections but opens well for Exhibit display, a rare combination usage.
