    1851 (March 20): Entire letter from Alexandria to Paris mailed at British Post Office with superb ALEXANDRIA double arc cds on reverse alongside blurred 'Purifié Au Lazaret / Malte'. Superb strike of scarce oval PAQUEBOTS / DE LA / MEDITERRANÉE on front and 'Indes Or. / Marseille' cds (March 31) in red on reverse. Carried at double rate (marked at '15' grams) and charged '30' décimes in manuscript due. Displays well. Signed Danson on reverse.
