    1851 (Feb 20): Entire letter from Calcutta to Cadiz, Spain endorsed 'Overland Mail via Bombay' struck with framed INDIA and INDIA PAID on front in red, reverse with Steamer Postage rate box in red (manuscript payment of 1 rupee 6 annas: 8 annas internal, 14 a. to Alexandria). Reverse with British P.O. ALEXANDRIA cds in black (March 20) alongside 'Purifié Au Lazaret / Malte' disinfection cachet. Reverse with shorthand manuscript signature of the Gibraltar Forwarding Agent William Glover and thence to Cadiz. Scarce entire that displays well.
