    1840/54: Lot four covers with 1 d. black, plate 1a, a large margined example on 1840 entire letter from London cancelled by red Maltese Cross, 1 d. red-brown from black plate 11, a four margined example on 1841 cover from Stamford, 1852 franco envelope from Bern, Switzerland prepaid in cash to London, redirected and franked with two examples of 1 d. red-brown, as well as 1854 stampless outer porto letter from Geneva Switzerland to London where taxed 11 d., re-directed to Cowbridge, Wales and franked with 1 d. red-brown. Some faults but an interesting group.
