200 r. black, horizontal pair with part imprint 'American Banknote' used on attractive double rate 1881 cover endorsed 'per Pascal' to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia tied by black segmented cork handstamps with 'Rio De Janeiro' despatch cds (June 15) alongside. Reverse with 'New York/ Paid All' duplex (July 10) and faint Yarmouth arrival cds (July 14). A fresh and fine cover to a most unusual destination.
