    1885 (April 22): Money Letter mailed from Rio de Janeiro to Petropolis franked by 1878 300 r. bistre brown in a single and horizontal strip of three used with faded 1884 100 r. lilac tied by oval 'Directoria Geral Dos Correios / Thezouraria / Rio de Janeiro' in lilac. Reverse with manuscript notation 'Contem cincoento mil reis' and five wax seals. Climactically toned as ever but very rare.
