    1879 (Jan 1): Cover at double rate from Rio to Lyon, France franked by rouletted Dom Pedro 1878 260 r. dark brown in a horizontal pair tied by segmented cork cancels in black and by 'Ligne J / Paq. Fr. No. 4' Paquebot datestamp (Salles 1063 var) without year date. Reverse with Paris cds of transit (Jan 26). Slight opening tear to envelope not impingeing on the adhesives, a scarce franking.
