    1869 (Aug 23): Cover from Rio to Bordeaux endorsed 'p. Guienne' (French Paquebot) and carried at double rate, franked by Dom Pedro 1866 80 r. slate violet (2, on blued paper) and 200 r. black (2), all with perforations trimmed prior to affixing and tied by semented cork cancellations in black. Red framed 'P.D.' at right and 'Bresil / Bordeaux' entry mark in black below (Sept 17). Reverse with Bordeaux arrival cds. An appealing and unusual cover.
