Santa Fé de Bogotá-La Plata-Popayan-Quito Route 1774 (April 7): Prepaid entire letter from Pasto to Popayan, distance 50 leagues / 279 kms., struck with superb PASTO handstamp in brown (Tizon 2 = RRR) with manuscript "Franca" bracketed alongside "1½" reales manuscript rate for a single letter up to ½ ounce. A rare and particularly attractive cover.
