Mersina 1856 (May 27): Entire letter from Mersina to Syra, Greece struck on front panel with oval framed AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO / MERSINA handstamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 1) in black. Charged '40' lepta due from recipient on arrival (June 3). Fragile but extremely rare-believed to be the sole recorded cover bearing this handstamp. Signed Hochleutner.
