Lot# 1091 - 182-185 Auction

1859: Dardenne 1 d. dull vermilion, a superb used example with large margins all round cancelled by numeral '4' in blue of Pamplemousses. Exceptional and very scarce so fine. Cert. A. Diena (1965) Gi = £ 1'300.
Note: It is interesting that the Kanai collection only contained one stamp of the Dardenne issue with a Mauritian numeral handstamp. This too was used at Pamplemousses.
