    1861 (Jan 4): Underpaid cover to Altona, Denmark franked by 1855/57 6 d. pale lilac tied by "372" obliterator of "Passage West" (Ireland) with despatch cds on back and front of cover. Struck with PART PAID / MORE TO PAY handstamp in black and mailed through Cork, London and Danish P.O. in Hamburg (Jan 7) to Altona. Manuscript "4½" in upper left corner being the amount needed top pay rate in full (10½ d.), with overall due amount collected on arrival of 11 skilling in red crayon. A scarce and interesting cover.
