    1864 (Jan 29): Printed Prices Current to Stege, Denmark endorsed 'via Ostend', franked with Great Britain 1858 2 d. blue pl. 9 tied by "Hull / 383" duplex in combination with Denmark 1855 imperforate 2 sk. blue, tied by "2" numeral cancellation of Danish P.O. in Hamburg. Reverse with Danish P.O. in Hamburg transit cds (Feb 1) and Stege arrival cds in blue. Both stamps being applied in England on despatch: the rate being 2 d. to Hamburg and 2 sk. from Hamburg to Copenhagen. Extremely rare entire with just two examples known with 2 d.+ 2 sk. franking. Certificate Nielsen (2003) and RPS (2004).
    Note: The Direct Packet to Altona / Hamburg was withdrawn on November 30, 1853. Mixed Frankings were still permitted because they did not transit any other countries and the bilateral agreement between Great Britain and Denmark was still in effect.
