    1855 (July 4): 2 d. blue, plate 5, wmk. Small Crown, perf. 14, fine used horizontal pair lettered SE-SF, used on entire Prices Current from London to Lyon, France tied by London '18' obliterator with London despatch datestamp on reverse clearly dated July 4, 1855 - the earliest recorded date of use and effectively a First Day of Issue usage with just one other cover bearing this stamp recorded from the same day (Phillips, February 1996). Calais transit (July 5) on front and Lyon arrival cds (July 6) on reverse of a fresh and fine entire. Certificate Louis (2012).
    Note: July 4, 1855 is the earliest recorded date of use for the 2 d. blue pl. 5, with either small or large crown watermark, perforated 14 or 16.
