    1 d. black, plate 10, CG, large to very large regular margins, tied by a fine strike of the LEEDS Maltese Cross in black to letter-sheet bearing "LEEDS MR 8 1841" c.d.s. for dispatch, addressed to Manchester. Leeds used five different Maltese Crosses, two of which are distinctive including the Leeds Special with the very rounded and marked cove-like outer Cross loops, recorded to be used from March 1841. Listed in 'Encyclopaedia of The Maltese Cross' by Rockoff & Jackson (2008), vol. 1, page 154. RPSL cert. (1974), Gi = GBP 10'000.
