    1881: 1 c. carmine on yellowish imperforate, a horizontal pair and a horizontal strip of five on 1883 cover from Jacmel to Genoa, Italy; tied by "Jacmel" cds's (Sept 25). Calais transit cds below and reverse with Paris and Genova (Oct 15) datestamps. Underpaid and offered "as is / tel quel", but nevertheless a remarkable Number 1 franking.
