    1 d. black, plate 5, a horizontal strip of three lettered NA-NC and a single lettered OE, used on large part of 1840 Auction Poster from Newry (Aug 27) to Portadown, Ireland cancelled by red Maltese crosses. The strip showing NB with re-cut frameline above top right hand corner square, and with margins clear to large all round on all stamps. Reverse with Loughbrickland and Portadown arrival datestamp (Aug 28). A rare and appealing cover and a most unusual 4 d. franking within Ireland at this date. Signed Ebel (1955), Certificate BPA (2012).
