1869: 10 bani bright ultramarine, the corner block of eight from lower right of sheet (Transfer Types 4-2-3-4/4-2-3-4), with large margins all round and showing the marginal rule at base and at right, imperceptibly close but not touched at lower right, trace of minor thin on third stamp of no significance, cancelled by four strikes of BUCURESTI / DIM datestamps (17/8) in black (Kiriac fig. 441). A splendid and extremely rare multiple, the second largest used block recorded and an important plating piece-the right hand side of the sheet being filled with mixed clichés. Superb with great visual and aesthetic appeal. Illustrated in Handbook II on page 228 and in Edition D'Or vol XII on page 121. Certificate Heimbüchler (2010).
Provenance: Collection Maurice Burrus (October 1962), lot 373.
