Lot# 4191 - 177-180 Auction

90 reis grey-black on greyish paper, vertical pair from Second Composite plate, positions 8/14, used in combination with 60 reis black, Early Impression on yellowish paper, Second Composite plate, position 3 on 1845 entire letter from the Pedrick correspondence from Rio de Janiero to Rio Grande. The entire endorsed "per Vapor" at lower left and stamps pre-paying the double ship rate of 240 reis, tied by blurred "Correio Geral Da Corte" datestamps in black (April 3). The 90 reis has an internal repair where damaged on opening and some overall soiling  to the entire but a significant and extremely rare letter. Signed Calves and Goebel; cert.
