    The famous 'First Day of Issue' 90 reis black on yellowish paper, fine used example just clear at lower right corner but with minute scissor cut, boldly cancelled by rimless "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE / 1-8-1843" datestamp in black. Cert. Moorhouse (2012). Six stamps with a first day usage have been found, but this is one of just two examples of a First Day of Issue cancellation to be found on the 90 reis, the rarest stamp of the issue.
