    1869: 2 c. brown straight edge example, used with 3 c. ultramarine and 10 c. yellow on 1870 Prussian Closed Mail cover to Stuttgart, all tied by segmented cork cancels in black with faint "New York Paid All / Br. Transit" datestamp below, somewhat over-struck by "Verviers/Coeln/Franco" TPO (March 10) in red. Cover with corner advert at left and file fold well away from adhesives, a delightful and scarce three colour franking paying the 15 cent Closed Mail rate (valid 1868 through 1870).
