    1869: 15 c. brown & blue, Type II, creased example used on 1869 cover from New York to Paris, tied by cork cancel in black with "New York Paid/6" credit marking in red (Dec 31). Red framed "PD" and blue Calais entry marking alongside (Jan 12, 1870). Cover with original contents and expertly repaired around edges, scarce: the last day of validity of the long-running 1857 Postal Treaty with France.
