    1851/57: 10 c. green, Type III, fine four margined example used on 1856 single sheet of entire letter to France tied by "New Orleans/La" datestamp (July 4) in black. Reverse with superb "Boston / Br. Pkt." cds in black (July 16) and Calais entry marking on front. Manuscript at left "16" (grams) and thus the 10 c. adhesive pays the double internal rate to the British ship, charged at '39' decimes in manuscript on receipt (triple rate as French rates were in 7½ gram steps). A superb and most unusual cover.
