    1841: 1 d. red-brown, three margins, lettered CD, used on 1854 Ocean Penny Postage illustrated envelope addressed to Richard Cobden MP and tied by London "77" obliterator. Readdressed on arrival with handstruck "1" additional 1 d. to pay marking in black on front with arrival on reverse (April 18). Cobden was an important agitator for the Anti-Corn Law League. A fine and rare usage.
