    1787 (Oct 25): Entire letter from Galata written by merchant Peter Tooke to Isaac Rogers (member of the Levant Company and Clockmaker's Company) in London struck on address panel with fair to fine strike of 'CONSTAN / TINOPEL' handstamp of despatch in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 382, the first handstamp of this metropolis and the first year of use). Reverse with disinfection cachet applied at Semlin "Netto Di Fuori E Sporco Di Dentro" in black and London Bishop marks of arrival, charged 1 shilling due in manuscript. Exceptionally rare entire.
