    1857 & 1865: Entire letters from Ponce to Altona struck with double arc "SAN JUAN PORTO RICO" datestamp on reverse (Feb 13) and thence via London (March 4) and Danish P.O. in Hamburg to Altona where charged '88' skilling due on receipt, with unpaid British rate 1/7d. = 16 sgr + 3½ sgr. for German share = 19½ sgr (in blue on front). Converted into skilling = 84 sk + local 4 sk. due and charged 88 sk. to recipient. Also an unpaid Printed Matter 1865 cover via British P.O. in San Juan (May 12) and London (May 30) charged just 5 skilling due on receipt. A fine and interesting pair.
