    1855: Perkins Bacon, Second London Printing, 5 c. brown-red on blued paper, horizontal pair with good to very large margins, tied to entire letter dated 'Valdivia 15.11.1856', with corresponding faint oval postmark on front, sent via British Post Office "VALPARAISO NO 30 1856" and London to Hamburg, there taxed "39" schilling, including the "2/2d." British share, arrival backstamp of January 18, 1857, a fine and scarce partially paid cover to Europe.
