    1865: Unadopted Essays for a proposed United Principalities issue, imperforate on white wove paper in green, brown and red. Imprint at base ‘M.R.F.’ with central vignette showing Crowned Eagle with the Bull on the chest and a Posthorn. Fresh and very fine (these Proofs frequently are also offered as Essays for the Maximilian Issue of Mexico of the same date). Scarce and very fine trio. See Cohen fig. 1.
