    1873/74: Essay by William Bell for the 1 d. value on card (54 x 75 mm.), with Queen's head and vignette in grey and as issued, the frame hand-painted in deep and pale violet, with figures of value at sides (removed from issued stamp) and corners with issue date '1874' and pencil annotation to place figures '7' and '4' in the alternate corners.
