Lithographed by Thomas Ham 1851 (June): 2 d. lilac-drab, imperforate, 2nd State of the Dies, a horizontal pair and 5th printing 1 d. pinky red, a single example, used on 1851 cover to Hobart, Tasmania cancelled by "17 / V" Butterfly handstamps of Lake Colac in black. Manuscript '5' denoting rate (2d. inland + 3d. ship) and backstamped at "LAKE COLAC / ♚ / PORT PHILLIP" (Dec 29), Melbourne, Launceston and Hobart arrival (9 Jan 1852). One of just two recorded pairs of this stamp on letter. Rare and most attractive. Cert.
