    1885: De La Rue Essay for the proposed 6 d. value, unadopted design, hand-painted in pale mauve & mauve on card (38 x 31 mm.) with lettering at top, SOUTH AUSTRALIA and Duty Plate picked out in Chinese white, dated "1 JULY 85" in manuscript at top. llustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 6041.
