    1859: Entire letter sent from Cartengena to New York, dated in manuscript 20 April 1859, struck by a very fine 'ADMINISTRACION DE CORREOS COLON / FRANCA' double-circle hanstamp in red, with 'FORWARDED BY / C.J. FOX / ASPINWALL N.C.' oval in red alongside, two vertical filing creases, otherwise fine, a scarce and important example; this cover sent during the short-lived Granadine Confederation period (1858-1863).
