1922: Essay for the Badge Issue 7 s. 6 d. value, Imperforate Essay, stamp size, with hand-painted vignette in black, silver and grey, frame in delicate shades of brown, inset into sunken presentation Proof (87 x 110 mm.) dated in manuscript "Jan 12, 1922" at top and "Approved as regards border, duty die, 14.1.22" in manuscript at base. An astonishing Essay of great charm, not illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" but similar designs shown on pages 5461 and 5462. Illustrated in "St. Helena" by Edward Hibbert on colour plate ii.
