    1802 (May 1): Entire letter written from Havana to Ardres, France crossed as prepaid and mailed via Cadiz and Paris during the Continental blockade, struck there with straight line "ESPAGNE" in black. Rate changed from '21' decimes and manuscript "doit être franche" applied at top right; with internal note of receipt (28 July 1802). An unusual entire with interesting contents regarding Saint Domingue. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate. Cert. Van der Linden (2003).
