    French Post Offices 1867: France 40 c. orange laureated, a horizontal pair (Yvert 31) used on 1872 combination cover from Kafr-Zayat to Chambery, France in combination with Egypt 1872 1 pi. red tied by "V.R. POSTE EGIZIANE / KAFR-ZAYAT" cds (Nov 11) in black, the France 40 c. pair tied by '5080' gros chiffres and French P.O. cds (Nov 12) in Alexandria. Reverse with italic "Dopo la Partenza" (Too Late) handstamp in black. Carried on the "S.S. Peluse" from Alexandria to Marseille (Nov 18) and thence to Chambery.
