Lot# 4963 - Auction 309-320

Overprinted at the Zanzibar Gazette 1895/96: India 1 r. slate, a used example with "small second "z" dropped in Zanzibar" and also showing variety "Zanzidar for Zanzibar" (Row 4, stamp 6), cancelled by Zanzibar Parcels thimble datestamp (Nov 18, 1897) in violet leaving the variety largely clear. One entirely trivial blunted perf. not mentioned on certificate but most attractive and rare. Cert.
